Speaking Failure

I

failure is a beautiful word,
unbound, unstruck, low in
the mouth all except the
first syllable, lower lip to
upper row of teeth. It ends
open and sprawling, a voice
passing through open space
over the spreading of tongue –
slowed down – over every attempt
to mean. Its middle the same
sound as helping or illness, both
equally possible between the
pressure of contact, bent wind.

wind bent, contact of pressure,
the between possible, equally
both. Illness or helping as sound.
Same the middle. Its mean to
attempt every over, down, slowed
tongue of spreading the over
space open. Through passing
voice, a sprawling, and open
ends it. Teeth of row. Upper
to lip. Lower syllable first.
The except-all-mouth, the
in-low, unstruck, unbound,
word, beautiful. A is failure.
